BlackBerry 7 the best Operating System ‘BlackBerry 7’, the best Operating System The Canadian Company based at Waterloo, Research In Motion (RIM) is reputed for always making available the most secure platform. That is why business enterprises throughout the world adopt its operating system (OS). It is acclaimed that RIM’s security is of the highest order.


After a survey, Trend Micro has come to the conclusion that ‘BlackBerry 7 Operating System’ of RIM is the most secure OS in the world. It compared various operating systems for built-in-security, application security, authentication, device firewall, device wipe, virtualization etc. Apart from BlackBerry 7, other operating systems like Android 2.3, Windows Phone 7, bios 5 etc were tested.


BlackBerry topped the list with a score of 2.89 followed by iOS, Windows Phone and Android 2.3 in that order. BlackBerry proved to be the best in all respects and conditions.


However, Trend Micro clarified that despite the emergence of more advanced Android operating systems, most of the enterprises and clients were for version 2.x of Android, which is secure by itself. Windows Phone was also praised for being robust and secure, using advanced isolation techniques.


The findings by Trend Micro have done a lot of good to RIM, prompting the US government to purchase of 400,000 BlackBerry devices during the previous year. Though the operating system is not quite popular among the domestic consumers, it is overwhelmingly accepted in the enterprise quarters, because it is the best in security.
