HTC to concentrate only on touch screen models HTC to concentrate only on touch screen modelsAt a recent event held in Seattle, HTC confirmed its plans to stick with touch screen models alone. Design team of HTC who was at the Pocket-lint attended the Frequencies event said that they are shunning away from making QWERTY keyboard phone. Company won’t make devices with physical keyboard anymore, with a last one unveiled previous year known as HTC ChaCha mobile phone. The product was not accepted well by the customers even though it boasted several exciting features and use intuitive interface. Event the product’s new touch access to Facebook failed to grab the necessary attention. Sales of this phone with a QWERTY keyboard didn’t meet the company expectations.


Using Android operating system which runs better in large screen, the company aims to concentrate on touch screen models. Android OS is widely used on HTC models. Currently, the smart phone market is dominated by touch screen models which are encouraging the company to make more touch screen models. Acceptance and demand for QWERTY models have decreased significantly over the past year. With this new plan, the company hopes to enhance its touch screen features and introduce more innovative touch screen devices.


However, the future market conditions and demand could change the decision of the company and hopefully we could see more HTC QWERTY phones.
