Simon Stanford, in charge of the Korean company’s operations in UK and Ireland informed that the prices for the various phones are being restructured. The company is also in contact with its networks operators in this connection. The quality of the phone will not be disturbed even if the price is lower. Innovations will not be compromised.
Mobile was informed by one operator that Samsung is very serious about catching the UK market and is doing its best for that. Samsung is expected to announce the introduction of the next phone in the Galaxy series in the market which is very competitive and challenging.
As per the latest information from ‘Kantar Worldpanel ComTech’, Apple continues to top the list in smartphones sales in the UK, very closely followed by Samsung. Apple’s share in the market stood at 28.2% while Samsung achieved 28.1% share of the sale.
Stanford is confident of Samsung’s better prospects, though there will be stiff competition from HTC, Sony and others. In fact competition has made Samsung bring out more sophisticated products.
Stanford made it clear that Android will continue to be the operating system of the phone in the UK. However, when the Windows Phone establishes in the market, a switch over may be possible, but for the time being Samsung will stick to Android.
