HTC Desire Mobile phone
After the success of HTC Hero, the company unveiled the HTC Desire mobile phone a touch screen model with exciting features and functions. In comparison to the predecessor, it has a larger screen size measuring 3.7”. Despite the larger AMOLED or SLCD capacitive touchscreen, it weighs as same as HTC Hero. It arrives in a compact casing of 119 x 60 x 11.9 mm size making it convenient to operate and carry. This model comes in four colour options, Black, Brown, Silver and White.


For added screen protection, a Corning Gorilla Glass is featured. Trackball in HTC hero is replaced by an Optical trackpad in this model. HTC Sense UI enhances the user experience. Technical specifications
HTC Hero runs on the Android OS, v1.5 (Cupcake) while its successor uses Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair) which is upgradable to v2.2. The 528 MHz ARM 11 powered HTC Hero is integrated with Qualcomm MSM7200A chipset and Adreno 130GPU for offering enhanced visual effects. Accelerometer and compass are the special features of this device. HTC Desire is more powerful with Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset, 1 GHz Scorpion CPU and Adreno 200 GPU. In addition to the Accelerometer and compass sensors, it features proximity sensor. To ensure smarter browsing options, both the devices equip HTML browsers. It gives access to your favorite websites and lets you run internet based tasks. Dedicated search key is included in HTC desire.


SMS(threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email and IM are the common attributes of these handsets. On the entertainment front, HTC Desire features Stereo FM radio with RDS, MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA9 player and MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV9 player. Although a radio is absent in HTC Hero, the media player entertains the user with good music and videos. Battery life
Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery is the power source of HTC Desire. It guarantees Up to 340 h (2G) / Up to 360 h (3G) stand by time and Up to 6 h 40 min (2G) / Up to 6 h 30 min (3G) talk time. On the other hand, HTC Hero makes use of Li-Ion 1350 mAh battery that is efficient to offer Up to 440 h (2G) / Up to 750 h (3G) standby time and Up to 8 h (2G) / Up to 7 h (3G) talk time. HTC Hero runs for longer hours during talk time.


Camera capabilities
