If some discrepancy occurs in the hardware of iPhone or iPad, the customers have to do the backing up before approaching the Apple Store as, otherwise, important information, data, contents etc may be lost while the equipment undergoes attention.
The wireless server system will help the customers in backing up the data temporarily before it can be re-stored on some replacement device in the store. That will mean that the customers have to take little pains for backing up themselves.
This has the disadvantage that the private information will be stored in the Apple server, which may not be liked by some customers. However, the customers can feel happy that none of their records will be lost during fixing.
It is argued that iCloud already has the facility of remote back up services, but the fact remains that distance between the server and the Genius Bar is crucial. If it is more, the process will be slow. Apple Stores have to attend to many devices during the day and cannot to afford to wait.
It is well known that many prototype schemes and projects of Apple did not materialize; this may also have the same fate. However Apple intends to try it in a selected number of stores in the middle of the year.
Every Apple Retail Store has a technical support wing known as Genius Bar which provides solutions for all Apple hardware and software issues. Technical personnel serving in the Genius Bar have all round knowledge about Apple devices and are capable of settling the queries of the customers to their utmost satisfaction. They can troubleshoot and undertake actual repairs.
