RIM upgrades the management team RIM upgrades the management team Research in motion has appointed Frank Boulben as its chief marketing officer and Kistian Tear as the chief operating officer.


These appointments according to RIM will enhance the management team prior to RIM’s release of the latest Blackberry 10 platform and it aims to expand the customer base all over the world.


RIM’s president and CEO, Thorsten Heins said that Frank and Kristian brings comprehensive knowledge about the swiftly changing wireless market. They will help RIM as they aim to provide long term benefit to their shareholders. Frank and Kristian has earnest awareness of the latest trends in the field of mobile communication as well as in computing.


Tear before joining RIM was serving as the executive VP for Sony mobile communication. Earlier he held variety of positions of operational leadership along with Ericsson not only in Europe but also in Latin America and Asia.


Mr. Tear will supervise all the operational works for services and handhelds; it includes global sales, research and development, products, production and supply chain.


Tear also stated that RIM plays a major role in the mobile industry and he is delighted to be a part of it. He is enthusiastic to work with talented employees of RIM and also harnessing their creativity and ingenuity for the advantage of about 77 million Blackberry consumers across the world. He also aims to help the firm to attract the new Blackberry customers.


Mr. Boulben will supervise the RIM’s global marketing efforts. Earlier Boulben was the former executive VP of planning, marketing and sales for the LightSquared. Prior to this he rendered his valuable service for Vodafone group and Orange.


Boulben said that RIM is the leader in the mobile world while the global icon is Blackberry. It is known to all how quickly the mobile arena progresses. According to him with Blackberry 10 platform, RIM will be able to change the way the enterprises and peoples interact with other. Hence he did not miss the opportunity to become the part of it.
